The Academy: Introductions

It was over a year ago. I was living in Lafayette, LA. A place where people speak 3 different language yet everyone understands one another for the most part. A place where tailgating, Cajun steamed shrimp, and what the locals think is country music but is really Bayou- a genre unto itself, are abundant everywhere. It is here, the place laid out like a grip map but the two main streets are traffic nightmares, where I was introduced to a fine group of ladies. Each of these ladies has their own flair accompanied by a vibrant personality. One of them, I came to learn was a self-publishing author. C.L. Stone is how her fans know her and she is a fantastic person. So, because she and her friends adopted me into their group when I was in a foreign city alone I feel I owe the first book review to her.

The Academy: Introductions is an introductory novel. It lets you get to know the main character, a young sheltered girl by the name of Sang and the unlikely group of friends that she makes shortly before starting at a new school. It gives you a taste of the mystery that surrounds the group of boys that befriend Sang and bring her into her group.

C.L. Stone has a knack for not overly explaining things and keeping you intrigued every step of the way. You find yourself wanting to be there for Sang and help her through all of the trials and tribulations that she is put through.

Now this first book might be a little raw, as in there are a few grammatical and spelling errors but it’s nothing major. I know firsthand that these are because she just wanted to get the book out there and let people start getting to know the group before she release The Academy: First Days.

So in conclusion, if you like YA and mystery spiced with a bit of romance then The Academy series is for you. Just start with Introductions and go from there. Below are some links on where to buy the books. Happy Reading!
